It’s the food we crave whether we’re happy or sad, but chocolate has always been one of those foods wrapped in guilt. But raw cacao is different. Packed with healthy fats, it actually helps the body absorb nutrients, and has the power to make us glow. Especially if it’s Sage and Anna Blanca’s handmade Addictive Wellness chocolate. They’ve blended the finest quality raw cacao with tonic herbs, superfoods, and a lot of love, to create chocolate that nourishes your jing, your chi and your chen.

Tonic herbs have the power to heal and support all the body’s functions, including your immune system and your nervous system, and replenish your chi (your vital energy) so that you can shine your brightest light. Sage and Anna Blanca have a passionate desire to help people live their ultimate life and create a better world, and they do that through their raw chocolates.

What you’ll learn:

  • Why tonic herbs will help you build a better body than protein shakes
  • Ketosis and why it boosts health
  • Why eating fat makes you thin
  • The two pitfalls to look out for on a vegan diet
  • Anna Blanca and Sage’s daily herb regime

What do you know about the food you eat? Most of the time we pick foods because of their convenience and availability, without researching the ingredients or questioning where they come from. But when you begin to educate yourself about it, you never go back.

Christian Evans weighed in at 402 pounds. He had sleep apnea and took blood pressure meds. After three of his close family members passed away, he realized his lifestyle had to change. After watching Hungry for Change, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, and Frankensteer, Christian began researching and learning about the devastating effects of sugar, the horrors of industrial farming, the mountain of chemicals and additives in processed food. And the links between modern diet and modern diseases. It was the push he needed to get started on his new healthy lifestyle.

Christian embarked on a two-month juice and smoothie fast—no easy feat considering he’s a chef and was around food all the time! He lost 80 pounds in the first two months. He kept going, intermittently fasting and swapping his usual weight training with cardio. He’s now a healthy 215 pounds. But it was more than just about diet—it was about mindset. Some people start their day with a morning coffee, Christian chooses a positive affirmation. He’s now a weight-loss blogger and health coach, helping others to ditch the junk foods and get healthy.

What you’ll learn:

  • The type of gym workout that doesn’t work
  • Why Christian switched from weight lifting to cardio
  • Christian’s tips to make healthier choices
  • Christian’s favorite juice
  • How Christian stuck to his fast despite working in a kitchen
  • The amazing properties of watermelon
  • Fruit juices vs vegetable juices?
  • The best fruit to mask cabbage juice flavor!

So, how are your New Year’s resolutions going? Are you keeping up with them or have you already let them fall by the wayside? We’ll let you in on a secret: it’s about intentions, not resolutions. And we’re here to help you get back on track to manifesting your desires.

The common misconception is that manifesting is hard—that in order to make your dreams come true you have to strive and stress. But the truth is, manifesting and getting set on your course to success simply requires courage and the ability to release. By letting go, you suddenly begin attracting the life you really want.

Here are our five steps to setting your intention:

1 – Get clear

No wishful thinking. Get very specific about what you want to create and manifest. What do you want to achieve, by when?

2 – Detach

Don’t be dependent on the outcome; know that the Universe may provide what you’ve asked for in a package different to how you’d imagined. Detach from the outcome and allow yourself to receive what comes without judgment.

3 – Check in with yourself

Where are you setting your intention from? Is it fear, anxiety or love? This will massively impact your manifestation, because like attracts like. Set your intention from an abundant place. Put yourself in a place of gratitude so you can set your intention lovingly.

4 – Feel it

Meditate on the feeling that you want to attract (not the opposite!). Even if you don’t know how to meditate, just give yourself a few minutes of quiet where you can feel what it’s going to be life to reach your goals. Sense the loving energy coming into your body.

5 – Write it down

Writing your intention down sends a powerful message to your brain and the Universe. Feel and believe that everything you seek is seeking you. Know that it is all on its way to you now.

Letting go is something we all struggle with, but it is one of the key things you can do to heal your body and your soul. The Sedona Method was started in the 1950’s by Lester Levinson. After being given just a few months to live, he began to release emotions and negative thoughts and accept his death—he healed his body and lived on for another 30 years. The Sedona philosophy, in a nutshell, is: welcome and bless everything in your life, the good and the bad.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to set your intention.
  • How to be unselfish in your relationships.
  • How Allison and Susy’s new year resolutions are going!
  • How to shake up your exercise routine.
  • Suzy’s experiments with internet dating.
  • Our five basic wants and how awareness of these can help you release negativity.
  • How to welcome even pain, and how to use that to move towards the light.
  • A simple Sedona Method technique to welcome and release.
  • How and why our bodies hold on to emotions.

This sexy, savvy duo provides eco-friendly advice on a variety of issues including the healing power of nutrition, living authentically, turning your passion into your career, choosing the best natural health and beauty products, the benefits of a plant-based diet and so much more!

When Allison met Heather at Gabrielle Bernstein’s Spirit Junkie Masterclass, she knew she had to come on the podcast! Heather Fantin is a transformational coach and intuitive healer, and founder of Soul on Fire retreats, where people can completely transform and heal their mind, body, and being.

Heather’s early life was filled with drama and despair: parents separating, getting into the wrong crowd, abusive relationships, rape, car crashes—life kept bringing her to her knees. At just 18, her inner guide voice shone through: “you are not living the life you are intended to live—you have a lot of work to do and you have to change your life.” She left her hometown of Seattle and spent 15 years traveling the world, learning new healing techniques and experiencing different cultures, exploring humanity and herself.

We feel the way we do because of what we’re thinking. Thoughts create our reactions and affect the quality of our life, and our future. You need to get clear on the story. Does yours empower or disempower you? It’s easy to fall into victim mode, but by becoming aware, you can free yourself from negative thought patterns.

Heather believes there is a fundamental shift occurring in how we approach health. Imagine how different your entire life would be if you felt whole, if you were healed, if you embraced your light and dark with love. Imagine a world filled with people just like that. Radical self-care is more than just eating healthy and working out. It’s about cultivating loving feelings towards yourself, having a deep connection with a power bigger than yourself and being in a supportive and open community of like-minded individuals.

2016 was an intense year. The current political climate is raw and has awakened many pent-up feelings within us. How can we make a positive impact on the world through our thoughts and actions?  How can we heal this trauma? When we judge others or situations, we are in fact judging something within ourselves that needs healing. Even Trump is simply a reflection of our collective shadow. When we come from a place of love instead of fear, we no longer feed the problem. We are spiritual beings, not just human beings—we can open up to love, heal ourselves, and heal the world.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to release emotions and shift into love
  • How to work with your anger.
  • How to get yourself back into the present quickly—the “drop inside” technique.
  • The effect cultural beliefs have on health.
  • How our beliefs shape our future lives.
  • How Heather met her soulmate.
  • Heather’s core healing exercises.
  • How to make the connection between how you’re showing up today, and what got you here.
  • How to apply your spiritual practice to all parts of your life.

Almost all issues, physical or emotional, can be healed through energy work—even physical pain that’s connected with an emotional block. Master Energy Healer Benson Simmonds marries energy work with divine Hebrew symbols to harness the power of the universe and heal his clients. Whether body or mind, what it comes down to is unconditional love.

In a way, many of us have lost our sense of power. We’re mostly driven by our ego, based on fear and the thought “I’m not good enough”, something which is endlessly confirmed by the media. While this is our default system, we can choose to be driven by our soul, which is based on joy, love, and expansion. Benson’s book Soular Power teaches us how to open up to the divine flow to allow more love to come in.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to connect to the paradox of the soul.
  • How Benson first started hearing and communicating with animals.
  • How to erect a pyramid of protection.
  • How to energetically connect to the divine.
  • What you can do with your anger energy. There are two ways to deal with it!
  • Ways to connect to love.
  • The difference between soul and ego – ego needs it, soul generates it.
  • Our three bodies and how to heal them.
  • The difference between Qi Gong and Hebrew letter energy work.
  • How can we shift from ego to love?
  • How can you have more fun doing anything?
  • How to see yourself from a divine perspective.

Overeating: we all do it. And modern society’s focus on high-calorie industrial foods only makes this worse. Plus we’ve all got that inner voice that facilitates our binging: You’ve had a hard day. You deserve a treat. It tastes delicious. How does your inner voice talk you into having that extra bar of chocolate?

Dr. Glenn Livingston used to have exercise bulimia. At 6′ 4″  and with a muscular build, he could eat over 6000 calories a day and not put any weight on as long as he worked out for a few hours. But as his responsibilities increased, he spent less time at the gym and the weight began to pile on. After exploring traditional ways to overcome eating disorders with no significant breakthrough, he decided to fund his own study to look at the link between personality styles and food cravings. While there was a definite link, the bigger problem was the inner voice that sabotages your efforts. That little whisper that says “You deserve that slice of cheesecake.” But you can detach from that voice—in fact, that is the key to never binging again.

Glenn wrote NeverBingeAgain, a free book dedicated to helping you overcome overeating patterns—stress eating, emotional eating, yo-yo dieting, binging. Download your free resources, including food planning templates and MP3 interviews, and get started on your journey towards a slimmer body and better health today!

What you’ll learn:

  • The difference between someone who craves chocolate and someone who craves salty foods?
  • Are you stress eating or emotional eating?
  • How to move away from that inner voice that sabotages your efforts.
  • How Glenn stopped eating chocolate.
  • The three things in our culture make binging worse.
  • Glenn takes Allison through an exercise to stop eating sugar.
  • How you resist the inner voice that pushes you to eat sugar.
  • How to remind yourself of your commitment so you stay in control.
  • How to move out of your primal lizard brain and into your frontal cortex (thinking) brain.
  • How to overcome the fear and uncertainty around reaching your goal.
  • Glenn’s tips to immediately stop overeating.

Being hailed as “Sex and the City for Food,” The Food Heals Podcast brings together experts in the field of nutrition, health and healing to teach you the best-kept natural secrets to being a hotter, healthier, happier YOU!

The Food Heals Podcast is hosted by Allison Melody and Suzy Hardy – two self-proclaimed natural chicks who will rock your world and change your beliefs about health! This sexy, savvy duo provides eco-friendly advice on a variety of issues including the healing power of nutrition, living authentically, turning your passion into your career, choosing the best natural health and beauty products, the benefits of a plant-based diet and so much more!

Let’s be honest, almost all of us have shopped at a fast fashion outlet at one point or other, for that last minute party outfit or a quick shopping fix. But often these clothes last all of a day, disintegrating after one wash. They may be cheap, but they’ve got a heavy ethical and ecological cost: made in sweatshops, laced with lead, they quickly end up in landfills. Is it possible to be fashionistas with a conscience? YES!

As a vegetarian and now vegan, Sugandh Agrawal knew she didn’t want to wear animal byproducts and set about finding an alternative. Leather, while known the world over for being “luxurious”, is a dirty industry—not just cruel to animals, but cruel to the people who work with it, and the environment. The journey to launching an ethical fashion brand wasn’t easy—she had to find different materials and artisans willing to work with them, not to mention finding factories that treat workers fairly. But it was worth it! In 2009 she launched GUNAS New York, our favorite, 100% vegan, 100% sweatshop-free, 100% eco-friendly handbag brand, voted Most Ethical Brand by the Ethical Fashion Forum.

You don’t have to compromise on style—you can be fashion forward and fashion conscious.  Sugandh wants to show the world a vegan lifestyle isn’t bland. It’s as fun, vibrant and colorful as the GUNAS handbags.

What you’ll learn:

  • Suzy and Allison’s three tips for eco-friendly fashion shopping.
  • How Sugandh convinced her uni campus to provide vegetarian options.
  • How Sugandh started her own business.
  • The spiritual meaning behind the name GUNAS.
  • The ethical side of fashion.
  • How to be more fashion forwards and fashion conscious.
  • The truth about “made in the USA”
  • How to make eco-friendly choices.
  • The secrets behind Sugandh’s inspiration.

Maura Knowles lay on the operating table, awake. A routine procedure that should have taken a few minutes had turned into a life-threatening operation. She was only 20. Everything that could have gone wrong in hospital, did—pancreatitis, infections, misdiagnoses, you name it. She survived not one near death experience, but two! Her fighting Irish spirit and the support of her family pulled her through. Twenty years on, she’s turning these dramas into a musical comedy “Insult to Injury.”

She’s not the only strong survivor in her family. Her father survived a quadruple by-pass. He was put on an incredibly restrictive diet—no sugar, no salt, no treats. Knowing from experience how crappy it feels to be without any kind of comfort food, Maura set out to create something healthy and delicious that her father could enjoy. MacnMo’s Morselicious Treats were born. Gluten-free, sugar-free, GMO-free, soy-free, preservative-free, salt-free and delicious, these morsels can now be found in over 30 stores nationwide.

Maura is also an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, helping people change the way they eat—but it’s not about restriction, it’s about having real, tasty, satisfying food. Maura advocates eating clean and green 85% of the time, and giving yourself 15% wiggle room. Her 21-day detox incorporates exercise, social activities, and the things you love—yes, even wine.

What you’ll learn:

  • Maura’s near death experiences – how did it feel to cross over?
  • How Maura merged her passions.
  • Why sometimes fasting is necessary for healing.
  • How to release emotions.
  • What’s worse than sugar?
  • How to feed your body and your soul.
  • How to get all your micronutrients from your food
  • The kinds of food you have to buy organic, and those you don’t.

How many times have you tried and failed to give up a bad habit or set up a self-care routine? You know logically that you should stop smoking, that you should love and believe in yourself, but somehow you just can’t get there. That’s because you’re working with your conscious (logical) mind, rather than your subconscious.

Your subconscious is formed in the first 8 years of your life—this is when your beliefs about yourself and the world around you are set. The split is 88-12, which explains why your subconscious often overrules your conscious mind. And this is where hypnotherapy comes in.

Hypnotherapy goes deep into your subconscious to unlock and release negative beliefs and thought patterns, and rewrite the script—creating new thought patterns of joy and happiness. It will help you let go of anger and fear, heal past pain and inner child wounds, and even resolve issues from your past lives.

Shauna Krikorian is a successful media industry entrepreneur and a healer. She graduated from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute and uses hypnotherapy to help her clients break open subconscious blocks, release anxiety, unlock the creative spirit within and experience greater joy and inner strength so that they can reach for the stars.

What you’ll learn:

  • A brief history of hypnosis – this is no new-age thing, it dates back to 1765!
  • The science behind hypnotherapy.
  • Venting in dreams and how it can help you release your anger
  • The three different stages to dreaming
  • The difference between true hypnosis and stage hypnosis.
  • Suzy’s personal experience with hypnosis.
  • The best time to listen to subliminal messages.
  • The most powerful way to do affirmations.
  • Why cursive writing is a better way of connecting with the universe.
  • What hypnotherapy does for past issues or unresolved things.
  • How to stop reading the script structured by your subconscious.
  • Shauna’s tips for interpreting your dreams.

Thanksgiving is all about being grateful, and at no time is this more important than in the face of the negativity, hate and division that the election result symbolizes. So far, we’ve kept to health topics, but today, Food Heals Nation, we’re going political. It’s a frightening time—the new president elect stands for racism, anti-feminism, anti-human-rights, war. Many of us no longer feel safe; we feel anxious and scared.

But we don’t have to feel this way. Suzy shares one method that works for her: the Sedona Method. Started by Lester Levenson in the 50’s, it works on the principle of letting go of negative beliefs, habits and patterns to free yourself from psychological discomfort and come back to the present moment—where we are most peaceful, and most powerful. Check out their website to learn more, or reach out to Suzy on our FB Group. We’ll dedicate an entire episode to this topic very soon!

We also introduce our fabulous new podcast producer, Foxy Roxy—a full time music producer and sound engineer, and “Trump supporters’ worst nightmare.”

What organizations and charities are you involved in? How can we be there for each other and the communities that are fighting for their voice? Let’s support one another. We want to hear your voice Food Heals Nation: share your thoughts on our FB group!

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, harmonious Thanksgiving.

Be present, be mindful, and love xxx
