The minute you tell yourself you can’t have a certain food, you’re going to crave it. And you’ll probably binge on it later. This binging and restricting cycle is one many of us struggle with in our quest for “perfect” health and a “perfect” body. It doesn’t have to be that way!
Tess Challis struggled with a host of health issues in her childhood and through her teens, from fatigue to chronic headaches, acne to anxiety. Refusing to believe this is the way it had to be, Tess decided to change her lifestyle. She went vegan because it was more aligned with her principles, and was amazed at the health benefits she experienced. Her skin cleared up, she had boundless energy, she felt amazing. But after a couple of years, Tess fell into “body perfectionism” mode. Veganism wasn’t enough, she became obsessed about being fat-free, nut-free, soy-free. These became “bad” foods she didn’t allow herself to eat, only to end up binging on them later. She became an obese vegan. And that was the turning point. She realized vilifying foods just wasn’t working. Balance was key, and a new lifestyle was born.
Tess is a chef, author, speaker and wellness coach. She’s passionate about helping others enjoy losing weight with healthy delicious vegan foods. This is not about restriction, but empowerment. Tess’s Be Radiant group helps women feel supported in their weight loss journey. She also offers one to one coaching, focusing on the whole person to provide a tailored weight-loss plan that focuses not on starvation, but on tasty, nutrient-dense food.
