It became his personal mission to love, heal and inspire. Khalil remains a mentor to recovering addicts and he previously owned and operated Riviera Recovery, a transitional living center. At the invitation of Khen Rinpoche Geshe Kachen Lobzang Tsetan, a Tibetan Buddhist monk from Ladakh, India, Khalil joined the board of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. He also serves on the board of the Siddhartha School, which seeks to preserve the Tibetan Buddhist culture and language and provide children in the remote Himalayas with a well-rounded education.

In this episode, Khalil talks about his decent into addiction and how his childhood trauma played a role in it.  Khalil shares the dark times he went through, but he gives us all hope.  He ended up choosing a different path for his life, and now he lives in recovery.  Khalil also credits his spirituality with helping him overcome his addictions.  Coming from such a low place, Khalil shares his empathy for all who struggle with trauma, abuse and addictions.  He’s found a path of healing, and now his life is spent helping others heal.  You won’t want to miss a moment of this episode!
